In Nainital district MITR is implementing National AIDS Control Project (NACP) with the financial assistance of Health Department, Uttaranchal and National Aids Control Organization (NACO) with following objectives among High Risk Group (HRGs)
Provide training on disaster management to 'Male/Female Mangal Dal Members' formed at the village level. Training covers disaster discovery and information on its rescue.
To enhance the livelihood of vulnerable groups in a sustainable manner through the promotion of improved livelihood opportunities and the strengthening of local institutions concerned with livelihood development.
The objective of this partnership is to prevent HIV transmission and mitigate the impact of HIV by expanding access to testing, counseling and prevention of parent to child transmission Services, strengthening inter program linkages, especially HIV and TB collaboration .

MITR have organised a adolescent programme for the student of inter colleges. In this training programme the motivators of MITR have trained approx 600 students of Inter College, Lamgara and Inter College, Jayanti (Lamgara).
