The World Bank Funded Diversified Agriculture Support Project (DASP) has implemented with objectives to encourage and strengthen the diversified agriculture techniques for developing advance agriculture techniques, keeping in view the agro climate condition of the region. And also promotion of diversified agricultural techniques in order to increase the production and use of agricultural waste materials, strengthen market facilities, promotion of bio-fertilizers and popularize the latest as well as indigenous agricultural technologies to the villages, motivate them to adopt these technologies by forming the self help groups/ farmers interest groups.MITR have formed a block level technical team (BTT), in which the Block Development Officer chaired the team and Technical Supervisor is the secretary and representative of line department and 04 progressive farmers are the member of this team. The main purpose to form this team is to give technical support to the block level farmers in any cases.A farmer's federation 'Krishak Samnvit Vikas Sangh', set up through MITR, is playing a catalytic role in improving marketing linkages and introducing new varieties of off-season vegetables in Lamgara block. 47 SHGs are members of the federation, which has forged independent links with government agencies involved in agricultural, horticulture, animal husbandry and other interventions. Federation members made efforts to boost income generation activities by marketing agricultural produce and Jam, Juice, Pickle at local fairs. |
